Vietnam’s GDP growth rate reached 8.2% in 2025. At the same time, the country’s GDP expanded significantly, increasing from approximately USD 380 billion in 2024 to around USD 514 billion, representing an increase of approximately 1.35 times.

In the first half of 2025, foreign direct investment (FDI) increased by 32.6%, reaching USD 21.5 billion—the highest level recorded since 2021.

As of 2026, Vietnam’s total population is estimated at approximately 102 million to over 103 million people, ranking 16th in the world by population size and 3rd in Southeast Asia, after Indonesia and the Philippines. Between 2022 and 2025, Vietnam’s crude birth rate (the number of births per 1,000 people per year) ranged from 13.83 to 14.61, compared with just 6.00 to 6.98 in Japan during the same period.

In Vietnam, approximately 68% of the total population is of working age (15–64 years old), providing the country with a large and relatively young workforce.
